Angela Groom's Bio
I established Lakehouse publishing as my own independent publishing house. 'Paris On A Prayer : The Dylan Groom Story' is my first book.
I was born in Salford, Manchester, England in 1961.
My parents and my brothers and sisters came to New Zealand to live in the summer of 1971.
My childhood in New Zealand was a happy one spent cycling to school along the Waikato riverbank. During this time I made lifelong friends, played basketball and enjoyed life in this beautiful country.
When I was eighteen years old, I met my husband Michael, and thirty-eight years later we share our lives with our children Jessica, Joshua, Benjamin and Dylan. Jessica's husband Jesse has joined our family; they live in Connecticut, America.
I work as a library assistant at the University of Waikato. This is a perfect place to work, as being surrounded by books on a daily basis has been an inspiration for me to finish my book.
Over the past twenty years, whenever I have found the time, I have worked on my book. To see it now, having been printed, has brought me great joy.
Having self-published, I am now ready to take the next exciting step on my literary journey - my book launch.
It has been many years, with weekends and holidays spent with the scattered pages of my notes furnishing our home. Now I am ready to share my story with you and welcome you to share with me my dramatic life and literary journey.
It has been a long and at times traumatic journey, but without doubt Dylan, and my book, have made it a beautiful one.
